Callings, Releases and New classes

So today brought some changes in the Vance family in regards to church. Sean is now a Sunbeam; my boy is growing up so fast. He really had fun and he did very well. Erica is going to be the Secretary in Beehives. Kayla is already in Mi Maids, as of her 14th birthday in December. Jon is now teaching Valiant 11 boys class. For me, I was released as a Primary teacher but am awaiting a new call. My call is "in works" and "things have to be finalized"; Oh boy, oh boy what will it be. We switched our church times from 9am to 11am which was nice and allowed us to sleep in. A few years ago I hated 11am because it was right in the middle of Sean's nap time but now he very rarely takes a nap. Being that it was the first Sunday of the month the YW came into RS for opening exercises. My own daughter, Kayla, chose to sit beside someone else (her old teacher) instead of her own mother. Erica came in late but made a point to come hug and kiss me before leaving; Kayla used to be like that. I'm kinda sad as Kayla is growing up and doesn't want to "hang" out with her mother anymore. I used to think that I would be an exception and always be a "cool" mother and that I would never be the "embarrassing mom". I guess I was wrong; it happens to the best of us, it's all a matter of time. I know that this is natural and that it's just part of her growing up and finding her own way but it does break my heart a bit. Well, at least Erica and Sean still aren't embarrassed by me and like to hug and kiss me still in public. I have a feeling 2011 is going to bring a lot of growth spiritually, physically and mentally in our family.
