So, many of you know I went back to school to finish my BS in Photography. I did this for two reasons: 1. To finally finish a Bachelors 2. Learn more about Photography so I can start a small home business. Under the Post 911 GI Bill, they will only pay for an accredited degree program; therefore, I had no choice but to enroll in a bachelor degree program. Well, after a few semesters it became overwhelming with all the required photography assignments and papers required so I disenrolled. However, I was disappointed as I was enjoying learning but felt it was interferring with my valuable time with my family. Well, the Lord makes all things possible. There have been several changes to the Post 911 GI Bill recently; I called the VA to confirm these changes and found out that they will now pay for a Certificate in Photography starting in October of this year. So, this will give me all the photography training that I want/need without all the demands that come with pursuing a degree. I am so excited about this new opportunity. So, now I just need to find a school that offers a Certificate in Photography (Art Institue only offers a BS) that accepts VA GI Bill.
Also, in regards to buying a home. We have been going back and forth on building, buying existing, staying in the ward, moving out of the ward, etc. We don't want to jump into another house like we have in the past. Plus, we wouldn't know for sure until summer time if we could even qualify for a loan. So, we have decided that we need to just plan on renting a home once our lease is up (in Oct). Really we just want to live in a house again and have a back yard for Sean and a place big enough to entertain. Plus, this will give us more time to figure out what and where we want to buy; we love Texas, San Antonio and our ward. Plus, it will give us more time to save and qualify without the added stress. Then we could also go on a family vacation next summer; which is way overdue.
Our day today; the girls have been off for Spring break. Did visiting teaching at the park and a friends house. Went home and brought Kayla's friend, Natalie. Made some granola bars, had lunch, then we went for some ice cream. Then went back to my friends house, Maria, to finish part II of our movie with our friend, Lauren. Sean and Erica played with their friends (Nicole, Clarie and Anna) while Kayla went to her friends in the same neighborhood (Natalie) and went swimming. Sean and I went home while Erica stayed and played with Nicole and Claire. Kayla went to another friends, Kacie (in the same neighborhood) and is still there; she'll be home around 10:30.
Tomorrow: The same friends are getting together to go bowling and then swimming afterwards.
