Jon's new calling and odds and ends!

Jon received a new calling today as Elders Quorum Second Counselor. I think it will be good for him; he has some great men that he will be working with.
Today was Ward Conference but unfortunately we had to leave early. During second hour, I started getting dizzy (everything was blurry and spinning), I was sweating and thought I was gonna faint. I thought it was gonna turn into a really bad migraine but it didn't (I didn't get the half numb body or the intense headache). I was a little freaked out because it came on all of a sudden. Looking back, the room was really hot, I didn't eat much for breakfast (a poptart, terrible I know but I've been craving them), plus I didn't take my morning medicine. I really thought I was gonna faint right in the middle of class while President Young was talking (Stake Counselor). Plus, I had all kinds of handouts for RS that I was excited about that were in my bag. I was bummed but there is no way I could have stayed at church. I came home, laid down then eventually ate. I feel much better but just have a headache that I think was due to the tension and stress of the situation.  But I have a wonderful friend and a visiting teacher that called to check up on me.
House stuff!  Well, it looks like we can start building a house in July/August but we are very limited if we want to stay in the ward. We really want to build as this will be our last home. We can stay in the same school but would be in another ward. Kayla has friends in the other ward already but we ALL REALLY like our ward. We are really torn but as I was talking with some folks I realized that the ward boundaries are eventually going to change again as our ward continues to grow. So, we can't buy a house based on the ward when it could change a year after we move. I definitely want the girls to stay in the same school district. It would only be about 2 miles away and Kayla will be driving in less than 2 yrs anyway. This has been a stressful decision as we have been in wards that we were unhappy with and it had a noticeable effect on us; we want to move forward not backwards. But I think it's a really good ward too; we want to visit before July/August though. I have met some people from the ward and so has Jon (it's the same Stake). We talked to the builder and they are willing to hold a lot for us with earnest money, of course. We found a lot right across from the community pool and around the corner from the playground, basketball court, volleyball court, pavilion and walking trails. The lot, like most around here, is small but it would be big enough for a swingset and/or trampoline and a small raised garden. But since it's so close to the rec center and the house would have a media room plus a large gameroom there are alternatives to the backyard. There are a lot of kids in the neighborhood (which we want) and there always seems to be people taking family walks along the sidewalk and hanging outside. It's hard being a parent and making decisions.
