Sean's 4th Birthday!

Can't believe my little boy is 4 years old; I can remember the painful delivery like it was yesterday. It has been a wonderful four years filled with lots of laughs, smiles and cries. I have learned that though mother and daughters share a special bond there is a different kind of bond that a mother and her son share.

Yesterday, 18 April, was officially Sean's 4th birthday. It started off with the two of us going to IHOP for breakfast followed by his 4 year old checkup. Sean was wearing a birthday hat and while waiting for the doctors appointment a random girl saw that it was his birthday and gave his $2. Jon was told a few months ago at an earlier appointment that Sean wouldn't need any shots at his 4 year old check up so I thought nothing of scheduling his appointment on his birthday.  Well, he ended up getting three shots in his thighs; poor thing he cried and cried. Lesson learned for mom: No doctor's appointments on birthdays. The day was followed with a small Pirate party celebration in our home with just the five of us.

Today, 19 April, Sean enjoyed his first birthday party with friends at Chuck E Cheese. He acted really shy but I could see on his face how happy he was especially when he was given the "medal" which he had been looking forward to. He had a total of seven friends from our church preschool group come to join us in the fun. I think he had a great birthday and he received lots of presents and still has a load of money to spend. There were so many pictures and it was hard to narrow it down without missing a lot of good ones.
