What an afternoon!
Erica has been wanting her hair cut short and dyed; so we made an agreement with her a few weeks ago that she could if she accomplished certain tasks. Well, she has been doing well finishing those tasks so we finally surprised her today and took her to get dye and her hair cut. She has grown out her bangs so they go over to the side. She is very happy with it and I think it looks really cute on her. It's dark and reddish more like an auburn color and a bob style, little below her chin. She looks adorable.
I will be taking some "staged" photos next Friday so I will post then.
A year ago I had really short hair but I have been growing it out over the past year. I keep growing my hair out but then realize that I don't like the way it looks. I always have a vision of what my hair will look like when it grows out but it never looks like my vision so I always end up cutting it off. Well, I have been thinking about getting it cut off again. So, while sitting there with Erica I decided to go ahead and go for it; big mistake! I should have waited but I was impatient and didn't. Erica and I decided that we liked the same haircut but I wanted a little angle. We had different stylist but were sitting side by side. Well, let's just say, "Our hair doesn't look ANYTHING alike". As my hair was being cut, lots of hair was falling until he gave me the mirror to look at the back, at which time I realized to my horror that that back of my hair was MUCH shorter than I wanted. Now, I forgot to add that I told the guy earlier about my short haircut a year ago and how I didn't want it that short and that I have been growing it out. I proceeded to ask him if it will still style like I wanted. At which point he went and got someone else. To my dismay, the new lady had to "re cut" my hair and in the process make it even shorter; the whole time "teaching" him. Now let me say that I have NEVER cried at a haircut before. Erica has cried every time she has gotten her hair cut short and I told her this time she better not cry. YES, you guessed it, I cried. My original stylist went on to hack up another person's hair while the other lady finished mine. Of course, I didn't have to pay but I did give the lady a tip as I can't imagine what my hair would have looked like if she wouldn't have fixed it.
Well, I have needed to dye my hair lately and couldn't pay to have it professionally done so I bought a box of light brown. After my hack job I decided, what the heck, I might as well be daring so I bought a red dye. Well, I'm 0 for 2 today because it didn't turn out at all like I wanted; it's too dark.
So, lessons learned today:
1. Wait, be patient
2. Know my stylist (get recommendations)
3. Don't be so cheap. Sometimes it is worth paying more (a lot more)
