New Year's Eve Stake Dance

We have our Stake New Year's Eve Dinner and Dance tonight at 5pm; it's perfect because it only lasts until 9pm. We can celebrate and then get Sean home to bed at a decent hour. I could care less about staying up till midnight; I can't remember the last time I stayed up till midnight to celebrate the New Year. We are gonna do our traditional Sparkling Grape Juice tonight when we get home; the girls will probably stay up and watch the ball drop. WW is going well for us but will be tested tonight at the dinner. It has been an eventful year with a big move to San Antonio, TX; but it has been great. We are so happy here and we have all experienced growth in many forms. My spiritual growth has been restrenghtened and we have built many friendships. The weather is good, the schools are good, our ward is good, lots of shopping and things to do; we love it here. With all of our moves that Jon and I have experienced throughout the years this is the place that we feel that we can finally call home. With the new year ahead comes New Year's Resolutions; my goal for the year is to continue to have balance in my life between family, church, friends and personal time. Wishing a Happy New Year to all!

Wow, we had such a blast at the dance. We got there at 5pm and they had two bouncy castles outside for the kids as well as popcorn and hot cocoa. Inside they had the huge hall decorated, cheeseburgers, hotdogs, homemade chips and other sides. They also had a person set up to take photos but we didn't get ours taken (either the line was long or everyone was spread out or we were too sweaty). I played Farkle with Kayla and her friends then the music started and that was the end. Jon, Erica, Sean and I danced till a little after 8pm. I haven't danced like that for a long time and momma still has her groove, if I must say. I have to say that last night was an awakening moment for Jon and I; we truly saw Kayla as a young lady. A year ago, she would hang out with us but not anymore; she has her own table with her own friends. Kind of sad to see her growing up but rewarding to know that she is a good kid with moral standards and a good head on her shoulders. We came home and had our traditional sparkling grape juice, then watched tv and watched the ball drop on eastern time. We went to bed and from our bedroom windows I could see lots of fireworks; I was trying to sleep but every few minutes I would open one eye to see the fireworks, lol. It was a really good night and a reinforcement of how grateful we are to be here.
